It is almost time to head back to school, so taking the time now to prepare your child for this transition is essential. It does not have to be difficult preparing your child for school, all it takes is a little forethought. Take a look below at 5 ways to prepare your child for a new school year. 1. Prepare your materials.

Do your back to school shopping together and start compiling your materials. This will help your child feel more organized and start to anticipate the changes happening. They will also enjoy buying the new items and supplies as it will help them feel as though they have a fresh start ahead.

2. Start a countdown.


Create a colorful paper chain or even track the number of days until school starts on a chalkboard. This is a great way to see how many days are left until the first day and really start building the anticipation. It can also help you see how many days you have left to plan, gather materials, etc.

3. Have a play date.
