Christ Episcopal Church in Covington invites the community to attend their annual blessing of the pets this weekend in Bogue Falaya Park from 4-6PM. The blessing will occur at 4:15. More than just a quick blessing, this has turned into a fun day for the entire family. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and stay for the activities. The church asks that all pets be either in a carrier on a leash. Stuffed animals and pictures of pets may also be blessed.
Special guests at the event include Pierre the Pelican, mascot of the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Christ Episcopal Wildcat. Activities for children include face painting, a craft area, dog kissing booth, and a petting zoo. Complimentary food and drink will be available for all.
Dogs will have the opportunity to participate in an ice cream social.
Music will be provided by The Celebration Band.
