The 15th annual Christmas Past Festival, one of the Northshore’s premier holiday events, will take place on Girod Street in Old Mandeville. The event will feature more than 100 artists and craftsmen from across the Greater New Orleans area. This year’s festival theme “Christmas Past Classics” will give nod to classic holiday films including The Grinch, Santa Clause, A Christmas Carol, Elf and Polar Express. Admission to the event is free and attendees are encouraged to get in the holiday spirit.
Elements at this year’s event include a Children’s Village with arts and crafts; a food court featuring a variety of local vendors like Isabella’s Pizza, Rob’s Rock’n Dogs, Creole Tomateaux and Paella NOLA. In addition, attendees will enjoy live musical performances from Box Office Giants from 11AM-2PM outside the Rusty Pelican, and UMPHY, 11AM-2PM in the food court. There will also be train rides, horse and carriage rides, and roaming holiday characters like The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who and Frosty the Snowman, as well as Christmas carolers. Santa Claus will also be present for photos with the kids near Das Schulerhaus Gift Gallery and Christmas Boutique.
