Holiday Movie Mini-Marathon. 5PM. Independence Library. Movies to be shown: The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol and ‘Tis the Season to be Smurfy.

Christmas Under the Stars. 6-9PM. Griffith Park, Olde Towne Slidell. This event features visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, festive music, a life-size Christmas Village, Slidell’s Nativity, the Parade of Trees, plus more holiday surprises for kids of all ages. Admission is free.

Ponchatoula Christmas Lighting. 6-8PM. Downtown Ponchatoula.

Holiday of Lights. 6-8:30PM. Tammany Trace Kids Town Pavilion & Kids Konnection Playground. Enjoy entertainment from local schools and area performance groups, holiday décor, kiddie rides, and more.Santa will be on site for pictures with the children at a cost of $15.00 each, printed while you wait. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Bingo. 6:30PM Abita Springs Town Hall. All ages welcome. Six and under need not play. Children 6-12 must play at least a 6/10 pack–$7.00. Children 13 and older must play at least 10/12 pack–$15.00.

Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Yuletide Concert. 7:30PM. Columbia Theater. A fun program of holiday musical favorites for the entire family featuring local student choirs! Tickets available on their website.

Polar Express Storytime. 11AM. Barnes and Noble. All aboard! Come in your PJs and join us for a magical evening as we host our annual Storytime of the beloved classic The Polar Express. Coloring and activities to follow.

Sweet Eats Study Hall. 1-4PM. South Slidell Library. Trained therapy dogs from Angels on Paws are on hand for this stress relief session along with some sweet snacks. Drop in anytime between 1 – 4 PM for some canine cuddles. Teen event.

Merry Madisonville Parade. 4-8PM. Downtown Madisonville. The Parade starts at the Maritime Museum and winds through town and ends on the Riverfront in front of Town Hall. It is led by the Mayor who is followed by the Court of the Krewe of Tchefuncte, bands, dancers, classic cars and more!  The Parade makes one stop on the way for a Champagne toast and then continues on to Town Hall to await the arrival of Santa! Santa and Mrs. Clause arrive by boat.  The festivities also include the lighting of the Christmas tree, caroling, and Santa’s Workshop.
