Storytime for All Ages. 10:30AM. Abita Springs Library. Books, stories, rhymes, activities and music for young children of all ages and their grown ups. Please note that food may be used as a craft material. Please call the branch for details. Please inform the librarian of any food allergies at least one week in advance. We are happy to make accommodations for you.
Storywalk for Families at the Northlake Nature Center. Noon-3PM. Families can stop by anytime but should arrive by 2:30 to be able to enjoy the entire story. The StoryWalk® will take about a half hour to complete, but the afternoon could be stretched out longer as families enjoy the trails at the center. The featured book will be “Hedgehug: A Sharp Lesson in Love” by Dan Pinto, a Valentine’s Day book. The story allows for a lot of fun participation. Families can expect to dance, hop and recreate other antics as they walk from page to page of the story. Check back for rain date in case of inclement weather.
Teen Book Speed Dating. 2-3PM. Slidell Branch of the St. Tamm Parish Library. Make a book love connection at our speed dating event. You’ll get to spend 3 minutes with 15 different books. You might end up with a date!
Indy Teen Club. 4PM. Independence Branch of the St. Tangi Library. Teens 12-17 yrs. old are invited to join us for activities, games, and snacks relating to all the most popular young adult media.
Bingo. 6:30PM Abita Springs Town Hall. All ages welcome. Six and under need not play. Children 6-12 must play at least a 6/10 pack–$7.00. Children 13 and older must play at least 10/12 pack–$15.00.

11th Annual Mandeville Releaf. 9AM-1PM. Mandeville Trailhead. William Afton, County Agent, LSU Ag Center, St. Tammany Parish, will speak about the benefits of the trees being given away and their care. Following the presentation and a question and answer period, the annual “Seedling Giveaway” will be held. The seedlings will include Green Ash, Bitter Pecan, Buttonbush, Native Sweet Pecan, River Birch, Sawtooth Oak, Persimmon and Mixed Plum.
Lego Contest for Ages 6-14. 9AM-3PM. Slidell Branch of the St. Tamm Library. Our theme this year 2016- “Book Mash-Up”! Create a LEGO structure/scene of your own by combining elements from two favorite book! Registered participants compete for prizes in 3 different age groups: 6-8yrs, 9-11yrs, 12-14yrs. Structure must demonstrate the theme: “Book Mash-Up: Combine scenes, places or characters from two favorite books.” Structures will be judged on creativity and originality. Structures may not recreate a design from a LEGO kit or use Bionicles, Technics, Clikits or other specialty LEGOs. Structure cannot be larger than 18″ x 18″ x 18.” Participants must be present during judging. Other rules and regulations apply. Space is limited, registration required. Love Monster and the Last Chocolate Storytime. 11AM. Barnes and Noble Mandeville. Monster comes home from vacation and discovers a box of chocolates on his doorstep. He knows he should share it with his friends, but what if there’s none left for him after everyone has a piece? Activities and coloring to follow.
Wii Saturday for All Ages. 1-2PM. Ponchatoula Branch of the Tangi Library. Visit the library and enjoy playing video games on the big screen television! All ages are welcome!!!
