Poetry Tea Time. 10-11:30AM. Mandeville Library. Celebrate National Poetry Month and the natural world with an outdoor Poetry Teatime. Drop by anytime between 10:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. to enjoy rhymes, riddles, limericks, and sonnets as we sip tea, eat cookies, and enjoy the beauties of nature outside the Children’s room. You will get to pick what to read whether it be silly or serious. The Children’s Librarian will be happy to read for you if you wish. In the event of inclement weather, we will have our tea and poetry inside the Children’s Room. Herbal tea, lemonade and cookies will be served. Please call the branch for details. Please inform the librarian of any food allergies at least one week in advance.

Storytime for All Ages. 10:30AM. Abita Springs Library. Books, stories, rhymes, activities and music for young children of all ages and their grown ups. Please note that food may be used as a craft material. Please call the branch for details. Please inform the librarian of any food allergies at least one week in advance.

Storywalk for Families. Noon-3PM. Northlake Nature Center. Families can stop by anytime but should arrive by 2:30 to be able to enjoy the entire story. The StoryWalk® will take about a half hour to complete, but the afternoon could be stretched out longer as families enjoy the trails at the center. The featured book will be “Waiting for Wings” by Lois Ehlert. The story allows for a lot of fun participation. Families can expect to flit, fly, and recreate other antics as they walk from page to page of the story. Check back for rain date in case of inclement weather.

Independence Teen Club. 4PM. Independence Library.  Teens are invited to play games and make crafts that encourage science and the arts.

Sunset at the Landing. 6-9PM. Columbia Street Landing. Big Daddy O and Amadee Frederick. Matt Lemmler’s New Orleans Jazz Revival Show “Fire and Water.”

Mandeville Live Featuring Amanda Shaw and the Cute Boys. 6:30-8:30PM. Mandeville Trailhead. Blankets and chairs welcome. No outside food or drink please.

Bingo. 6:30PM Abita Springs Town Hall. All ages welcome. Six and under need not play. Children 6-12 must play at least a 6/10 pack–$7.00. Children 13 and older must play at least 10/12 pack–$15.00.

Color Me Calm. 11AM-12:30PM. Amite Library. Coloring is relaxing, stress-relieving, and fun activity. Join your fellow color enthusiasts to color away your troubles with soothing music, warm drinks, and a full hour of calm coloring.

We are the Dinosaurs Storytime. 11AM. Barnes and Noble. Laurie Berkner’s chart-topping, beloved hit “We Are the Dinosaurs” is now a picture book! Featuring an adorable cast of characters and vibrant, playful art by Ben Clanton, We Are the Dinosaurs transports readers back to a time when the dinosaurs roamed the earth.
