Christmas Under the Stars. 6-9PM. Griffith Park, Olde Towne Slidell. This event features visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, festive music, a life-size Christmas Village, Slidell’s Nativity, the Parade of Trees, plus more holiday surprises for kids of all ages. Admission is free.

Holiday of Lights. 6-8:30PM. Tammany Trace Kids Town Pavilion & Kids Konnection Playground. Enjoy entertainment from local schools and area performance groups, holiday décor, kiddie rides, and more.Santa will be on site for pictures with the children at a cost of $15.00 each, printed while you wait. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Bingo. 6:30PM Abita Springs Town Hall. All ages welcome. Six and under need not play. Children 6-12 must play at least a 6/10 pack–$7.00. Children 13 and older must play at least 10/12 pack–$15.00.

Christmas at the Firehouse. 10AM. Fire Station 121. Kids can talk to and take pictures with Santa. They can leave their wish list with him as well. Chicken and red beans and rice will be donated by Popeyes and there will be jambalya by one of the fire men. Root beer will be donated by Abita.

Christmas at the Square. 10AM-Noon. Hammond Square Mall. Santa & Mrs. Claus, Bayou Selfie Photos, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Face Painting, Caricature Artist, Can Food Drive for Our Daily Bread, Live radio remote with Cajun 107.1 giving away a “Hammond Square Holiday Prize Pack.”

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Storytime. 11AM. Barnes and Noble. Join us as we follow Olaf, Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa through a frozen adventure to find the best holiday traditions. Activities to follow.

Author Signing with Cornell Landry. 11AM. Barnes and Noble Mandeville. Beloved local children’s author Cornell Landry will be in-store signing copies of his newest book Goodnight to Da Parish. Locals familiar with St Bernard Parish will love the clever rhymes and loving homages to the area’s history and culture.

Silly Saturday. 12:30PM. Amite Library.

Sweet Eats Study Hall. 1-4PM. Slidell Library. Trained therapy dogs from Angels on Paws are on hand for this stress relief session along with some sweet snacks. Drop in anytime between 1 – 4 PM for some canine cuddles. Teen event.

Ponchatoula Wii Saturday. 1-2PM. Ponchatoula Library.

Merry Sithmas. 2-3PM. Mandeville Library. Children ages 6-11 are invited to celebrate the release of the new Star Wars movie at the library! We’ll read from the Strange Case of the Origami Yoda, make Origami Yoda finger puppets, create Star Wars crafts, and play fun games like “Storm Trooper Bowling” and “Pin the Bow on the Droid.” Costumes are encouraged but not required. Chex Mix, Donut Holes, Graham Crackers, and Hawaiian Punch will be served.

Folsom Horse and Wagon Parade. 2PM. Best dressed contest, antique tractor exhibit, wagon decoration contest, meet Santa. See the event page for parade route.

Deck the Rails. 4-7PM. Covington Trailhead. Holiday entertainment, children’s craft activity, Santa’s arrival, holiday movies. To see the event flyer, see the event page.

Winter on the Water. 4-6PM. Mandeville Lakefront. The Annual Winter on the Water (WOW) will begin on the Mandeville Lakefront. Santa’s parade starts at 4:00 on Lakeshore drive at the harbor and ends at the Gazebo. Mayor Donald Villere will arrive at the gazebo along with Santa to light the oaks at approximately 5:15. We will conclude the event with the annual boat parade. Admission is free and open to the public. Remember to bring cameras for pictures with Santa.

One Night in Bethlehem. 5:30-8:30PM. Outdoor live nativity production. Free. Please arrive early.
