Are you familiar with the term “summer slide.” If not, let me fill you in: kids lose skills over the summer. They lose months of math and also slip in reading skills. the challenge for parents, of course, is to find a place for kids to be cared for over the summer than also engages their minds and keeps them from losing skills they’ve worked so hard to gain.
For kids in Kindergarten through Third grade, Fundamentals of Mandeville has a STEM Summer program designed to do just that. In addition to providing full childcare for the summer months–provided by adults!–they are also putting together a fun summer of Science, Engineering, Technology and Math programming. Each week will focus on a different topic area such as The Solar System, Dinosaurs, and more.
You get all of this while also getting Fundamentals incredible staff of experienced childcare workers. They also are IN SESSION from the beginning of summer vacation til the end.
So get your child signed up for a summer experience that will keep their mind engaged and prevent that “summer slide.” You’ll be glad you did when they head back to school.
