St. Tammany Delays the Start of the 2020-21 School Year (Again)

After discussion with the Federation of Teachers, and upon the recommendation of the St. Tammany Parish School Board, the 2020-21 school year for St. Tammany parish schools has been pushed back to September 8th.

These changes to the calendar have resulted in other changes. Looking at the calendar, it appears that:

Thanksgiving Break has been shortened

Mardi Gras Break has been eliminated

Spring Break has been shortened

The students are slated to finish the year on May 21st.

A full copy of the calendar can be seen here.

Whether students return for in-person learning, hybrid, or distance will depend upon the phase that our state is in at the moment. Phases are determined by the governor. To learn more about how St. Tammany will be returning to school for the 20-21 school year, please see our post here.
