Imagine if you could send your kids to school wrapped in an extra layer of protection from germs. One that neither of you could see or feel but that kept the air around them largely free of bacteria, viruses, and mold. Imagine this blanket killing stomach viruses, RSV, and even coronavirus. This isn’t just a pipe dream–we actually can keep the air in our schools and businesses clean and two local guys have the discovered the technology to do it.
We have profiled Nick and Ryan of Natural Disinfection Solutions before. They are local entrepreneurs obsessed with killing germs and it would be hard not to be impressed by them and their work. They are friendly, personable and 100% passionate about what they do. Not just sales people or a cleaning company that does their thing and goes home. They are constantly on the hunt for products that do the best job and do it safely.
Nick and Ryan’s latest discovery, CASPR, is a game changer for controlling the spread of illness in indoor environments. I am not an a germ expert or even an enthusiast. Prior to COVID-19 I never really worried about illness–it was just something that happened. The coronavirus got my attention because I have a child who could die from a bad case of pneumonia. Scary stuff. To protect my child, I have been listening to lots of experts and one thing I’ve heard repeatedly is that not enough attention is being paid to ventilation. Good ventilation is an important part of the equation for slowing the spread of respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19, along with masks and vaccines.
This is where CASPR comes in: it works on ventilation. It circulates just the tiniest bit of germ-killing hydrogen peroxide with the air, killing mold, viruses, and bacteria in the air and on surfaces. It works continuously in the background without having to constantly scrub surfaces and expose everyone to those harsh chemical smells that we all know so well. It has a “kill rate” of 99.96%. I think we would all agree that feeling like our kids are safe in school is more important than having the newest, fanciest white board.
While the CASPR is already being in used in places like libraries, public transit, and private businesses, this is the kind of technology I want to see in our schools. We all know masking is tough on our littlest ones and some special needs kids. Most are not even eligible for the vaccine yet. We also know that schools are a breeding ground for more things than just COVID; things like the flu, strep, and the dreaded stomach virus all run rampant during the school year. This one device helps control the spread all of those illnesses.
I’m extremely proud that this small, local company is now providing CASPR units for a large chunk of the south. Two local guys’ obsession with killing germs has paid off in a big way.
You can support them by telling your friends and neighbors about CASPR. Request it in your schools and daycares. It IS an investment but it is one that will benefit our whole community. Let’s get back to life while knowing we are doing our best to keep everyone safe.
