Every summer those in the know eagerly await the return of CLAPS–Covington Louisiana Actor’s Playhouse System. Started in 1996 with two shows, CLAPS has expanded over the years and now offers four shows each summer. Actors are chosen by audition and have the opportunity to work with professionals from all areas for the industry. CLAPS provides young people with information and perspective on what the theater industry is really like.
In addition to this, they also offer a low-cost opportunity for children to see live theater. Tickets are just $8 for kids and $10 for adults. In addition to this, certain area camps that meet certain financial requirements are given a discount on tickets. It’s hard to find a better deal than that!
