The DDD is thrilled to bring a Starry Saturday to Downtown Hammond with support from event sponsor, Smile Doctors by DN Orthodontics, on December 10th. Bring your family and friends to explore, discover, and support our local businesses, the shining stars of our DDD, as we celebrate the holiday season.
8am-12pm: Start the day at our Holiday Farmers & Artisans Market in Railroad Park and Northern House Parking Mall (across from Brady’s Restaurant). The market will feature over 40 farmer and artisan vendors with handmade items, vegetables, fresh food, coffee, treats, and more. The market will also have live music to enjoy as you shop.
12pm-3pm: Get your holiday shopping done at any of our local Downtown Hammond retail businesses, meet special guests, and/or enjoy exclusive deals. Visit one or more of our locally- owned restaurants or pubs for lunch, afternoon snacks, dinner, refreshing beverages, and/or libations. As an extra holiday delight, Santa and Mrs. Claus have accepted our invitation to visit and enjoy an afternoon Downtown stroll.
3pm-6pm: Dazzle your taste buds on a specially-curat
4pm-7pm: In partnership with the Rotary Club of Hammond and sponsored by North Oaks Health System, the night will conclude with Movie Under The Stars in Cate Square Park. Starting at 4pm, stroll through the park to enjoy festive holiday decorations, music, a snowy winter wonderland, pictures with Santa, holiday crafts for the kids, STEM activities, and more. A showing of The Polar Express will begin at 5pm. The club’s concession stand will be open from 3:30pm to 7pm.
Note: The DDD is not accepting vendor applications for this event. If you are looking for train rides, head over to Zemurray Park for FREE rides in the month of December. Contact the Hammond Recreation Department for more information.
