Buckle Up for Your First-Ever Stationary Mardi Gras Parade

As we’ve covered previously, Mardi Gras is very different this year. Parades as we know them are canceled and now it sounds like most of the bars in New Orleans will be as well. Some organizations are up to the challenge, however, and Dionysus of Slidell is one of them!

This Sunday, February 7th, from 1-4PM Dionysus will “roll” standing still! They will will have their floats and riders stationed on Caruso Boulevard and cars will have an opportunity to drive by! Cars can drive by as many times as they like during the three hour period. The event is underwritten by Trinity Reception Hall and is free to parade-goers.

In addition to floats, a few of the groups that normally roll in the parade will be participating including Northshore Misfit Jeep Group and Northshore Corvettes.

At the beginning of the route, parade-goers will have the opportunity to purchase food tickets. The sales from several food items will go towards Hospice House. Cash is preferred.

So grab the kids and get ready for something new!
