After what feels like an eternity, the location that previously hosted Friends restaurant is starting to get a new lease on life. On the bottom floor is The Anchor at Tchefuncte.

The Anchor is an open-air experience which is perfect right now. It’s right on the water and features two slips where boats and dock and boaters can come right in to each. It’s purposely casual and encourages diners to come as they are. Don’t be surprised if you see swim suits peeking out under tank tops and flip flops.
The Details
The menu is creative yet accessible and features a lot of Gulf Seafood which makes sense. They also feature hand-made craft cocktails if you’re looking for more of a drinking a spot. The food pictures on their facebook page are drool-worthy, though, so don’t be surprised if you can’t resist.
They do not take reservations and all aspects of the restaurant are first come, first serve. Casual is the guiding principal of this new restaurant with beautiful views and a fun vibe. There’s even a playground for your kids to blow off steam while mom and dad do the same. Can’t beat that!
