Abita Springs is well known for a few events each year–their large Halloween Carnival, the City-wide Garage Sale, and the Push-Mow Mardi Gras parade. This year, however, they are adding one more event to the list to help liven things up for the Christmas season.
On December 11th there will be a Christmas Market at the Trailhead from 5-9PM. Titled, “Shop, Eat, Drink, and Be Merry” the market will feature a variety of local vendors. Masks required. The Market will be kicked off with a tree lighting at 5PM.
At 7PM La Petite Theater will be performing a Christmas musical, A NOLA Noel, down in the park. Seating will be distanced and masks are required. Tickets to this are available on the La Petite Website.
Additionally, on the 11th the residents of Abita Springs will have their houses lit up for a “porch crawl.” Drive the streets of downtown Abita Springs and see the decorations they have put up for others to see!
This looks like a fun night for everyone and it is free (except for the musical) and open to the public. Abita is a great little town with delicious restaurants and friendly residents–I’m sure everyone will have a good time.
