Christmas on the Northshore {Guide to the Holidays}

There’s no time quite like the holidays and these days the holidays seem to start as soon as Halloween has ended! No worries–we have a complete list of holiday activities happening in our area. And this is just the tip of our holiday coverage! Please check out our holiday hub for all things Christmas in south Louisiana.

November 30th, 2018

Christmas Extravaganza Arts and Crafts Event. 10AM-5PM. St. Tammany parish Fair Grounds. Featuring more than 500 artists from the multi-state area. $5 for adults. Children 12 and under get in free.

Christmas Under the Stars. 6-9PM. Griffith Park, Olde Towne Slidell. This event features visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, festive music, a life-size Christmas Village, Slidell’s Nativity, the Parade of Trees, plus more holiday surprises for kids of all ages. Admission is free.

Christmas Movie: I’ll Be Home for Christmas. 5PM. Loranger Library. Details here.

December 1st, 2018

Merry Madisonville Parade. 2-8PM. Downtown Madisonville. For a complete list of activities, the schedule, and the parade route, please see the event page. 

60th Annual Rotary Club of Hammond Christmas Parade. 5:30PM This year’s theme is “A Louisiana Christmas.” See information about the route and how to participate in the parade on the Rotary’s website.

December 2nd

Christmas at Terra Bella. 3-6PM. Ride the TerraBella Express, enjoy live holiday music, Christmas crafts and treats, mini horses, write a letter to Santa. Santa pictures $10.00. There is a coat drive going on at the same time. They will be accepting new and gently used coats, gloves, hats, and scarves.

Christmas Tree Lighting. 6-7:30PM. Abita Trailhead.

  2. All the taxes we pay in st Tammany parish you would think they could put aside some money for Christmas lights at the trailhead on Koop dr. Shame on the president of this parish .Maybe if they went to a few less lunches the kids could of seen some light displays this year
