It’s Time to Start Talking About Air Quality

This post is brought to you by Natural Disinfection Solutions.

Have you ever walked into an indoor play place and been knocked over by the smell of feet?

Have you ever sent your child off to start a new school year only to have them home sick by the second day?

Have you ever experienced a virus that slowly takes down your child’s entire daycare one by one? Or your office?

Believe it or not, none of these things has to happen. The technology now exists that allows the air that surrounds us and the surface we touch to be disinfected continuously. Unfortunately, the technology does not exist to clean my bathtub for me, but I remain hopeful. You read that right, continuous disinfection is here. The days of constantly wiping down door knobs and shared toys with toxic chemicals can be behind us. We just have to invest in the right places.

I mean, wouldn’t it be nice if you didn’t have to hold your breath when you heard a stomach virus was making the rounds? If you knew that all the surfaces around your kids were being continuously disinfected? Or what about when you’re at a large event? Wouldn’t it be great to know that the air itself was being cleaned while you danced the night away with three hundred of your closest friends?

Local entrepreneurs Nick Licata and Ryan Haggard have been obsessed with sanitizing since before it was cool and their latest discovery is perfect for all of these situations. I remember Nick messaging me about it when they first found it. It was the middle of the pandemic and we were all cleaning EVERYTHING. The idea that we could let up a little really sounded like a miracle.

Well, it’s not a miracle. It’s just some basic cleaning that we’ve always known about combined with some new technology. I’m not a scientist, but the general idea is that as the air passes through the CASPR machine it turns some of the water particles into hydrogen peroxide. That hydrogen peroxide then cleans everything it touches.

Some local businesses have already installed this technology. The owner of Massage Envy Mandeville, Natlie Smith told us “Massage Envy offers a very personal and intimate experience to our customers and members. When I decided to install CASPR, I was choosing to have an additional layer of disinfection continuously working in the background, in addition to our routine cleaning procedures. Our staff and members are our number one priority, and their long-term safety is my responsibility.” Keith and Neely Frentz at Covington restaurant LOLA told us “When we chose CASPR as our method to continuously disinfect our restaurant, it was the best choice for us because of the wide variety of bacteria and viruses it protects our customers and staff from.  CASPR is safe around people and food prep areas, and is a decision that continues to pay off for LOLA”

We need this technology in more places. How many of us have already been taken down by the flu this season? While I’m not sure CASPR can help if someone coughs in your face, it can certainly help keep us from catching every bug that goes around.
