Summer is quickly becoming one of my favorite times of year. I love not worrying about catching the bus. I love water parks. I love staying up a little later (or a lot later if I’m reading a particularly exciting mystery novel). Another thing my whole family likes about summer are the cheap movies. My twins go almost every week and my MIL and her boyfriend even like to go! If you live in Slidell, I’ve already posted about the offerings at the Grand, but here’s a deal that Movie Tavern is doing this summer that I think I lot of people will enjoy.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Movie Tavern experience, it’s very fun. You sit in very cushy chairs (better than my living room), and you can have food delivered right to you chair by a waiter or waitress. It makes a great date night, but kids love it too! And it’s nice to not have to struggle to your seats with an armful of popcorn and drinks. But it does come with a price tag! You can expect to spend a good amount of money for a night out at Movie Tavern. A fun treat, but not a regular thing for my family.
The Kids Dream Series lets you get the experience of Movie Tavern without the hefty price tag. Movies are only $3 and for an additional $3 you can get a kid-sized popcorn and a drink. Normally a ticket is over $13 so this is a great deal.
Movies show on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Times vary, but looking at Covington’s site I think these movies are generally 10AM on Sundays, and Noon during the week. You can buy tickets here.
